2013

The fall of 2013 I had the good fortune to have another painting used as an illustration in the fall issue of Oklahoma Humanities: The Magazine of the Oklahoma Humanities Council.  The painting, "Potion Study" appears on page 14, with poems honoring the Oklahoma poet and friend of the Oklahoma Humanities Council, Jim Chastain. Here is the web site link of the fall issue:

Two Paintings Appeared in Publication:

A nice thing occurred several years ago: Carla Walker, editor of Oklahoma Humanities: The Magazine of the Oklahoma Humanities Council, asked permission to use two of my paintings in the Summer 2013 edition. One is displayed in conjunction with an article by Mickey Edwards, former Oklahoma congressman in the United States House of Representatives, former member of the faculty of Harvard and Princeton Universities, and now vice-president of the Aspen Institute and contributor to columns in the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune as well as periodically on NPR as a political commentator. The other painting appears on the inside back cover with "End Notes from the Editor." It is an extremely attractive and artfully produced magazine. This Fall

I am teaching a painting class and two art fundamentals classes at Tulsa Community College.
I have been teaching at TCC for 22 years. Even though my usual medium is oil, I have continued to experiment  with acrylics, which was the medium employed in the fall Painting class.  And it's always exciting to teach art fundamentals.

Reflections

The last few years have been productive. Even though selling art is not necessarily the criterion for success, it is gratifying to know your work is bought and displayed in homes around the community.
